Proposals

Applications our now closed for our 2012 exhibition program in the basement of Donkey Wheel House, 673 Bourke Street.

BUS Projects is an independent contemporary arts initiative that promotes the experimental fields of performance, sound art and spatial practice. The BUS Projects exhibition space is comprised of two galleries (see floor plan attached). Exhibitions run for three weeks. Artists, art collectives, curators and writers are encouraged to apply.

BUS Projects responds favourably to proposals for solo or group exhibitions with spatial qualities, works that include performative elements or take a cross-disciplinary approach to their presentation. BUS Projects also welcomes proposals for one-off events or performative works that may not fit into the three week exhibition schedule — please discuss your ideas with the Gallery Manager.

Successful applicants will be offered a three week exhibition and will be required to enter into a short-term agreement. BUS Projects provides public liability insurance, publicity, curatorial and marketing support (including the design and distribution of an email invitation) and promotional listings including Art Almanac. BUS Projects also offers assistance with lighting and documentation and provides staff for opening nights.

Artists are responsible for installing and de-installing their work, for insuring their works, and for sitting the gallery. Gallery invigilation is shared with the other exhibiting artists. The gallery is open Wednesday – Saturday, 12pm – 6pm.
